Project Objectives

1. To promote environmental education and sustainability by encouraging participants to use recyclable materials in art.
2. To inspire youth to think innovatively about waste management through play-based learning.
3. To create awareness about the importance of recycling and reusing for a sustainable tomorrow, with the scope of artistic exploration.
4. To foster collaboration, empathy, and creativity among students from different age groups.

Project Summary

The Recycled Art for a Sustainable Tomorrow (RAST) Project is designed to build awareness about recycling and upcycling through playful, creative, and aesthetic experiences among students from classes 6 to 10 in Dhaka and beyond. It is a series of engaging workshops that will directly benefit 875 students, with an additional 11375 people impacted indirectly. To be aware of recycling and upcycling, 875 students will participate in Recycled Art Appreciation Workshops in their educational institutions, where they will receive a multimedia presentation about the workshop from the trained instructor, and then they will create small art pieces based on a theme and paste them on the canvas. The Final artwork will be handed over to the school authorities for display, creating a lasting impact on recycling and upcycling awareness & promoting creativity.

To make environmental education easier, more attractive, and more effective, using art as a playful medium to promote recycling awareness is a creative and timely approach.

Outcomes

1. Enhanced awareness of recycling, upcycling, and sustainability among 875 students and their communities.
2. A showcase of innovative and artistic ideas for reusing waste materials in 35 educational institutions
3. Development of teamwork and collaborative skills through group participation and playful learning
4. Encouragement for students to engage in eco-friendly social ventures, fostering leadership and responsibility toward environmental causes.
